The Short Version
Still Wall is a single-player Riichi Mahjong app for iOS, built by one developer as an indie project. It exists because I couldn't find the app I wanted to play.

I've been writing software for close to 40 years. My day job moved away from coding a while back, but it's still what I love doing in my spare time, and publishing an app on the App Store has been on my bucket list since Apple first opened the doors to indie developers.
Everyone says the best indie project is one that scratches your own itch. I enjoy card and tile games on my phone, and after dabbling with Mahjong I went looking for a good iOS app. I wanted something that felt like an iPhone-assed iPhone app — portrait, native, quiet — and that was accessible to a newer player.
So I started building the app I wished existed: portrait-first, rules-accurate, calm, and accessible enough that someone early in their Riichi journey could actually learn from playing.
I'll be upfront — I wasn't a seasoned Riichi player when I started this project. But the Riichi community stood out to me as one that genuinely cares about the game, and I felt there was room for an app that respected that: faithful to the rules, transparent in its mechanics, and built with long-session comfort in mind. The engine implements the WRC ruleset correctly, and I've leaned heavily on community resources and feedback to make sure it stays that way.
Still Wall is currently in beta via TestFlight. If you play Riichi — whether you're just getting started or you've been at it for years — I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback.
